Connect Community Church

If you’ve ever sat in a pew wondering, “Is this really all there is?”—welcome home. We’re a body of believers who take Matthew 25 seriously and realized the Church isn’t a building with a steeple, it’s people with calloused hands serving the least of these. No membership required. No entertainment promised. Just the truth of God’s word and believers ready to live it out.

WHY CCC?

We believe that mainstream religion has lost its way and is either deeply rooted in tradition or desperately trying to reimagine itself in order to appeal to more people. In both scenarios; it has moved further and further from the truth of God’s word.

We knew that there had to be more than the Sunday routine. After all, scripture tells us plainly to be doers of the word and not hearers only lest we deceive ourselves. And Matthew 25 gives us a great description of what exactly it is that we should be doing. In the judgment Jesus separates the goats from the sheep and He tells the sheep why they are about to enter the gates to the kingdom of heaven. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. Of course they asked…when did we ever encounter You Lord under any of these circumstances…and He said to the extent that you did it for one My brothers or even the least of these you did it for Me.

WHY A WAREHOUSE?

We are the church. The Church is not about a building, it never has been and it never will be. Yet that is what man has made it about. We currently meet in a warehouse on Steep Street right off of Big Hill Avenue. We have put a lot of elbow grease into it but very little money and are always looking for cheaper options. But it is clean and it is sanctified and we love the location. We prefer that our tithing go to our ministries.

Matthew 18:20 – “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

CCC CHECKLIST

My name is Tony Dotson and I’m the pastor of CCC and if this looks like an old warehouse that’s because it is.

I went to the alter at the age of 16 and asked the Lord to come into my life. Then I set out to do my best to live as a Christian; but having no real idea on how exactly to do that. So, I just looked around and mimicked other Christians. In other words, I played the part for many, many years…. not realizing that God wanted so much more from me than what I was giving.

If you are playing the part of Christian; going to church…singing some songs; listening to a sermon and repeating it next Sunday, then you might be where I was. If you are doing your best but you feel in your heart that there must be more to being a Christian, then you would be right. There is much more than the ritual of religion.

Friends I’ve attended small rural churches; large urban churches; even mega churches…. but I’d never seen a body of believers make a concerted effort to BE THE CHURCH, to do any of the things mentioned in Matthew 25. And that should make us stop and reevaluate church. It is not a building but a body of believers. Believers who know that love is an action and only action can build His kingdom here on earth. That’s who comes to CCC.

If religion is leaving you wanting more out of your relationship with Christ, then join us here in this old warehouse on Sunday, and be a part of the action that is HIS LOVE.
